xRez - Extreme Resolution of Yosemite
El Capitan (2,650ft): We are again looking for thirty serious, team oriented, qualified individuals to rappel the HIGHEST FREE VERTICAL FACE in the U.S. We are planning the trip for the summer of 2010.
TEAM: You must have an all STAINLESS STEEL, Long rack, 20 inches or longer, complete climbing system (Rope Walker), comfortable harness and be able to self rescue.
APPLICATION: Download a copy below, fill out, sign and mail with deposit. All new team members are required to have a signed letter of recommendation from a previous El Cap participant verifying your qualifications, skills, and your team/group cooperation abilities.
WAIVER: Download a copy below, sign the waiver and mail it along with the application and deposit.
BUDGET: The fee will cover; rope, shuttle vehicle, lodging for the week, essential food for top camp, team photo and team party at the end of the event.
REFUND: The deposit is non-refundable unless the trip is a wash then all monies will be returned minus the expenses paid to date. Because of the expense and timelines for reservations and cancellation policies of vendors; any cancellations after December 15, 2009, all monies are non-refundable.
SCHEDULING: Todd Handley will be taking information on climb and rappels, arrival and departure information to El Cap, in order to prepare the schedule for the event. Please contact him through the web site or at any of the practice sessions.
TEAM BUILDING: It is MANDATORY that you attend Whitesides and one additional rappel at Ram’s Head. We encourage you to come and have fun and participate with all the scheduled events. The earlier the better. If this is your first time with a weighted rope (approximately 150lbs) you should attend the Ram’s Head rappel in order to get comfortable with the weight.
